How the marketplace works

Creators describe an event, the placements they offer and the visibility they will deliver. Saving a draft keeps it private. Publishing makes the listing and its photo visible to brands and adds the event to the creator’s public profile. Creators must finish their payout setup before publishing.

For new authorized auctions, brands choose a placement, upload their artwork, accept the auction and payment terms, and complete a card authorization with Stripe. The bid amount is held on the card and is not charged when the bid is placed, nor when the brand is outbid. A bid is accepted only after the service verifies the authorization, the deadline and the current minimum. The first bid must meet the starting price; each subsequent bid must be at least 10% above the highest accepted bid, rounded up to the next cent. Brands cannot bid on their own placements or while already leading. All closing times are displayed in UTC. The highest accepted bid at closing is the provisional winner; the sponsorship is confirmed only after successful payment. A preview alone is not an accepted bid.

Card authorization, capture and release

By accepting the payment terms when submitting a bid, you authorize RentMyHype, through Stripe, to place a hold on your payment card for the full amount of that bid, and to capture that hold once, in full, if your bid is the highest accepted bid at closing. The authorization is specific to that bid and is not a subscription. It reserves funds on your card; it is not a charge, and the amount is not transferred until capture. Payment credentials are handled by Stripe; RentMyHype stores references, consent records and payment status, not your full card number.

If a higher bid is accepted, the service cancels your authorization and the held amount is released. You are not charged, so there is no refund and no payment processing fee is deducted from you or absorbed on your behalf. The time for a released hold to stop appearing on your statement or available balance is determined by your bank, not by RentMyHype or Stripe. An authorization that arrives after closing, below the current minimum, or while you already lead is not accepted and is released on the same terms.

A card authorization is guaranteed by card networks for a limited period, commonly around seven days. For this reason an auction may run for at most seven days from publication, so that the winning authorization is still valid at closing. The event itself may take place later. If a capture nevertheless fails at closing, the placement remains unsold: no other brand is charged, because every losing authorization has already been released. The creator and the leading brand are informed and no sponsorship rights arise.

No additional buyer service fee is charged by RentMyHype. Your bank may apply its own fees or currency conversion to an authorization or to an actual payment. We do not guarantee fee-free banking. Keep your email address current and check your workspace for payment notices.

Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old and have authority to act for any business you represent. Provide accurate information, protect access to your email and Google account, and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account.

Your photos, logos and content

You retain your rights in content you submit. You grant us only the rights necessary to store, process and display that content to provide the features you request. You must have permission to use uploaded photographs, logos and other materials, including the consent of identifiable people where required.

Do not upload unlawful content, misleading sponsorship claims, confidential information you cannot disclose, or content that infringes another person’s rights. Do not misrepresent your audience, your participation in an event, or your authority to sell a placement. Event organizers and existing sponsorship agreements may impose restrictions; creators are responsible for checking these before offering placements.

Creator payout onboarding

Stripe provides payout-account onboarding and may require identity, business and bank information. Access is subject to Stripe’s eligibility rules, supported countries, verification requirements and applicable agreements. Connecting an account does not guarantee that a sponsorship will be sold or that a payout will be made.

The standard fee is 10% of each final completed sale, deducted from the creator’s payout and inclusive of payment processing. New listings receive the standard 10% rate. Listings already awarded a 5% launch rate retain that rate. Drafts do not reserve a launch rate. The rate is assigned at publication, remains attached to the listing and is shown in the dashboard. The creator receives 90%, or 95% for a qualifying launch listing, and the brand pays its winning bid without an additional buyer service fee. Losing bids on authorized auctions are never charged: their hold is released instead. Older pay-now auctions retain the payment model shown on their auction page: each accepted payment can take the lead, and a displaced brand receives a full refund, with processing costs absorbed by RentMyHype. No platform commission applies to losing bids. Fees and refunds are rounded to the currency’s smallest unit. Transfers can be prepared after the auction closes and outstanding payments and refunds are reconciled. Receipt in a bank account depends on Stripe, account eligibility and banking timelines; no instant payout is promised. Currency conversion, if needed, uses Stripe’s conversion for the underlying payment.

Delivery, cancellations and disputes

Creators are responsible for delivering the visibility described in their listing and providing evidence to the winning brand. Connected-account badges indicate control of the connected account at verification time; they do not guarantee identity, audience size, performance or delivery. Report a cancelled event, non-delivery, a mistaken payment or another sponsorship dispute promptly to contact@rentmyhype.app, quoting the listing and payment reference. These cases require review and are separate from unpaid losing bids or legacy outbid refunds. Mandatory cancellation and consumer rights remain applicable.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to access another user’s data, bypass security controls, submit fraudulent documents, interfere with the service, or use automated activity that disrupts its availability. We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address abuse, security threats, infringement or legal obligations.

Availability and responsibility

The service may change, be interrupted, or contain errors. Keep copies of important content. We do not promise audience reach, sponsorship revenue, conversions or commercial results. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or user rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Closing your account

You can delete individual account drafts in your dashboard. To request account closure or raise a concern about content, contact contact@rentmyhype.app. We may retain limited information where required by law or necessary to resolve a dispute, as explained in the privacy policy.

Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections that apply in their country of residence. Please contact us first so we can try to resolve a concern. Any dispute is subject to the courts competent under applicable law.

Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as the service develops. Material changes will be communicated where appropriate. The applicable fee and auction closing time are shown before a bid is submitted.
